MOUTH GUARDS LEND SAFETY TO SUMMER

It’s almost summertime.

If the rain ever stops, Niagara’s awesome trails, paths, parks and fun places will soon be full of families, all stretching their legs after a long winter and enjoying the great outdoors.

Baseball diamonds will be occupied, and soccer stars will take to the field, ready for action. Tennis, volleyball, swimming and cycling will take place in parks, backyards and facilities throughout the region. Families will go hiking with the dog; kids will be learning new skateboard and roller-skate tricks, and runners will be lacing up their sneakers to exercise in the great outdoors.

In addition to always wearing a helmet, sunscreen, a hat and bug repellant during active sports play, Lakeport staff suggest the addition of one safety item about which you may not have thought:

THE MOUTHGUARD!

A mouth guard is a proven cushion that can protect against dental injuries like knocked-out teeth. It can also help prevent a broken jaw, neck injury or concussion. 

Lakeport Dental staff want to encourage you and your family to treat mouth guards like you would a bicycle helmet, or a seat belt: It’s a piece of safety equipment they don’t want you to leave home without.
